October
5th 2008 is a date for your diary……. dust down your bikes,
check tyres, seats and, of course, helmets…. as the NSPCC Alton
Water Big Bike Ride is well under way following the success of the very
first event in September 2007, a small and rather intimate ‘trial
run’.... Claire Scott, MD of Riverside Press Ipswich is delighted
to be involved again and commented that she is “wholeheartedly behind
the efforts of the organisers to raise vital funds to support the work
of the local team and other Projects throughout East Anglia and the country
as a whole.” The Ipswich Project has been in existence since 1987 offering a range of therapeutic services and community group work to children and young people who have suffered significant harm and trauma as a result of abuse or neglect. The organisers hope to raise in excess of £5,000 which will go some way toward the £380,000 needed to sustain the work of the Suffolk Project. The more money you help raise the more the NSPCC can do for children and young people. £126 could enable 3 children to have an in-depth session with one of the ChildLine volunteer Counsellors giving them someone to turn to and hope for the future. |
